❀ 40-50 Hours a week if hired on a full time basis.

Job Description:
The landscape technician is an experienced landscaper working with minimal supervision. The position assists in directing the activities of a team of two or more labourers at the job site.
In addition; the landscape technician is able to operate a variety of equipment, name few
*( tractor trailer, skid steer , Excavators …etc ) and have a very good knowledge in the horticultural practices.
Professional and technical expertise required for this position
❀ Important part of a good senior landscape technician is to be able to read and understand the blue prints (design drawing), review plan with site foreperson and implement the construction accordingly.
❀ Safely operate a variety of mechanical equipments including but not limited to mini excavators, skid steers, vibrating plate compactors , gas saw, rotto tiller, sod cutters, post hole augers, chain saw, grinder, quick saw, table saw, and other cordless equipments (drill, reciprocating saw ..etc).

❀ The safe operation and maintenance of all truck, trailer and other machineries.Ensuring that only employees that are properly licensed in the province of Ontario are allowed to operate these vehicles. Keeping of detailed cleaning, repair, and maintenance logs for all the above vehicles. The filling out of the inspection report on a daily basis. Or whenever the driver changes for these Vehicles within the day.

❀ Assists the site for person in interacting with the clients by way of introductions at the beginning of a job, answering questions, responding to client requests, making reasonable changes to the plan. And providing a walk through at the job’s completion.
❀ Assist the site foreperson in completing the necessary paperwork including time sheet, work order, change order, and material requisition.

❀ Ensure that job is completed in the most time efficient manner, & sufficient resources and material are available.
❀ Assist site foreperson in managing a crew of 2 or more, communicating to foreperson about personal issues, and assisting in the training of employees on policies, procedures, safety and in addition, motivate and training employees during work on best construction techniques and methods.
❀ The immediate notification to management of So Green of any injury that may occur to anyone on a landscape site, that requires immediate medical attention. If management cannot be reached then the responsibility to insure that the injured person is brought to receive medical attention immediately.
❀ Maintain a clean safe work environment including site and equipment.
❀ Be a good example of a team player.
❀ Briefs foreperson and make recommendation on job status, personal issues and clients concerns.
❀ Notify manager of any equipment defect or maintenance and repairs needed as per our set policies and safety check list.
❀ Start work at 7:00 am & finishes between 5:30 -7:00 am
❀ Adhere to our company policies and safety policy.
❀ Performance evaluations will be conducted once a year. ( After the interim period decided between management and new employee).
Experience
❀ The following certification is required for this position - Canadian certified horticulture technician (CCHT), or at least 7 years experience in landscaping field is preferred (Detailed trade reference are required).
❀ Candidate must be able to read and write.
❀ On- going education pertaining to the industry.
❀ Good oral and written communication skills.
❀ Valid Ontario driver license (Class G, But class A is an assets) driving motor vehicle with attached trailer and GVW is around 22,000 lbs. Clean driving abstract is required.

❀ Wet / hot and or humid conditions, outside weather temperature ranging from -15 c - +33 c
❀ Dirt and mud.
❀ The jobs are either located in a commercial and / or residential properties.

❀ The physical demands outlined are examples of the type of demands the employee will encounter on the job site.
❀ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, crouch, kneel, etc .... employee should also as mentioned lift weights ~ 80lbs or more.

❀ The employee must be a team player and blend with the existing company employee & work closely with the supervisor.
